Parko progresses through to quarters at The Billabong Pipe Masters
Day 2 of competition at The Billabong Pipe Masters saw 22 heats run in epic 6-8 feet (2-2.5m) waves at Hawaii's Banzai Pipeline. Rounds 2 and 3 were completed, along with the first two heats of round 4. The second heat of round 4 hosted Joel Parkinson, who dominated the 35 minute affair, posting a combined heat total of 18.10 (out of 20), against his rivals CJ Hobgood 6.20 and Kieren Perrow 5.83. Winning in this round means Parko advances straight through to the quarter finals, skipping round 5, which is expected to recommence 8am Friday morning (Hawaiian time).

To show support for Parko's 2012 world title campaign, the staff at Billabong HQ hosted a BBQ lunch, where all members donned their #goparko tee's and wrote messages on a specially dedicated #GOPARKO wall. Along with the staff lunch, Billabong has modified the billboard and front doors of their Burleigh Heads store with the slogan #GOPARKO.
We're all behind you mate, bring it home!
