• Bring back kirra!!?..what about froggies!!!

Theres a lot of talk going on about bringing back Kirra, I wont get started on it all because its like head butting a brickwall, or more commonly phrased 'flogging a dead horse'.

All I know is that the most Loved/Hated sand pipe on the gold coast gave birth to a spot called Froggies, 90% of the time it's a slabbing closeout that will hand your ass to you on a silver platter with no remorse, screams of 'widow maker' are always a common phrase heard in the lineup!followed by screams of 'omg my shoulder, omg its out' ..however there is that 10% where you will find a little detonating peak that will leave you intact and a smile on your face.

A few months ago the gold coast was hit by continues solid stormy swells ripping all the sand out, froggies was no longer, dead as a door nail, not a grain of sand to be seen, until the guys at the pump turned the old tap back on, literally 1 week of pumping sand and there is a solid beach and groomed banks waiting to bend lims and pop sockets.

Mix that with a nice east swell and you a have thick bone breaking slab to enjoy, at the end of the day this is just a fun wave to enjoy with the local chiropractor on speed dial.

Me, Woody Sedgman (me boss/bodyboard team manager) and talented photog Alex Ormerod have been having a few fun sessions out there, after a few hours of hasseling the sh#t out of alex, Alex happily handed over some pics for the blog!.if you want to see some more of Alex's amazing photography or your just looking buy thousands of dollars on huge canvas images!! Me on the 90%, there you get flipped on your back and driven into the sand, losing every inch of air in your lungs.
