Donavon Does Japan Part 2
Donavon, Eric, Doc, Randy, Hirata(Banana), Funaki-san and the film crew packed the car and headed to Chiba to go surfing, where they scored good waves!
Kenji and I headed to the Greenroom festival to set up the stall to sell Donavon's Greenroom festival t-shirts. Soon after Tayama-san (Head designer of Billabong Japan) joined us to help sell the t-shirts. The t-shirts sold very quickly in the morning, which was a fun experience. Later we were also helped by Mutoh-san, who is the head of Von Zipper Japan. With the help of a few coldies, the day was fun!
The crew arrived back at the Greenroom Festival around 6:00pm. Donavon had a series of interviews to do before his gig.
Later that night, I was lucky to get given a break by Kenji to check out Donavon play. He played an awesome gig to around 5000 people which made the house bounce, as the event was held on a floating wharf. During his set, he was joined by Ray Barbie to play a couple of songs. At the end of the set, the crowd erupted screaming for an encore. Soon enough, Donavon appeared to play an encore.
