Billabong's Jack Freestone has put the junior surfing world on notice that he won't surrender without a fight in his ASP World Junior Champion title defence.
Jack was in unstoppable form throughout the Arnette ASP World Junior event presented by Quiksilver but unfortunately fell at the final hurdle to finish runner-up to Brazil's Caio Ibelli during an incredible final day at Praia Do Diabo in Brazil.
Jack took down Australia's Davey Cathels in the quarter finals with the event's two highest single-wave scores (perfect 10 and a 9.70) and then slayed Brazil's Filipe Toledo to blast into the final.
The event was the second in the three-event ASP World Junior Championships, which culminates in January with the Billabong World Junior Championship event in Australia.
Jack now moves into No. 5 on the ASP Junior Men's World Ranking, and is back within striking distance of the ratings leader, Caio Ibelli, going into the final event.
