• Surf and hang out with Joel Parkinson these summer school holidays

Fresh from winning the 2009 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing in Hawaii, Joel Parkinson is excited to come back home and share his surfing knowledge with young aspiring surfers at Surfing Australia's High Performance Centre (HPC) during the Billabong Joel Parkinson Surf Camp from January 11th-15th 2010.

The five day camp for 8 to 17 year old boys is designed to give surfers a once in a lifetime opportunity to surf, hang out and soak up all the valuable knowledge and surfing tips that Joel and the HPC coaches have to offer. The 5 day surf camp will include coaching from Australia's finest fully accredited surf coaches, video analysis of each surfing session, Silicon Coach DVD, product bags from Billabong and of course the opportunity to meet and surf with Joel Parkinson.

HPC coach Gary Cruickshank commented 'The HPC facility with the fully equipped gym and uncrowded surf combined with Parko's surfing knowledge and exemplary conduct as a professional athlete will be the perfect environment for any surfer to take their ability to the next level' Parkinson is the perfect mentor for young surfers. Australia's best junior surfers continue to try and follow his career footsteps at the Billabong World Junior Championship from January 9th at North Narrabeen as Parkinson is the last Australian to have won the event back in 2001. In 2009 he placed second on the ASP World Tour.

The Billabong Joel Parkinson Surf Camp will be based at the Surfing Australia HPC at Casuarina Beach which is just 15 minutes south of the Gold Coast. The camps facilities, resources and coaches cater for all surfing levels, from surfers looking to complete that first cutback all the way to launching and landing aerial maneuvers.
