The Best of Los Angeles with Model, Annie McGinty

There is a certain type of girl that, upon first meeting, you find yourself drawn to. They exude an easy-going, effortless, cool vibe and have you saying, “man, she’s rad” almost immediately. They are sincere humans and are fearlessly, yet unobtrusively, confident. They are badasses; witty and unapologetically authentic. Dream girl, Annie McGinty, is one of these babes. The blonde model, surfer, and avid skateboarder (she first picked up a skateboard when she was 11) embodies this uncomplicated Southern California “cool”I speak of.

I first met Annie a few years ago on a photo shoot and I was immediately drawn to her laid back attitude, love for the outdoors, and her off duty style. (I recall her wearing a pair of broken in boyfriend jeans, a vintage baseball tee, and some seriously lived in Converse.) As we worked together throughout the day I learned Annie was up for anything, super chill and moved with confidence and ease in front of the camera. To see such a successful model comfortable in her own skin was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Fast forward two years and Annie is an even better version of that easy-going renegade that I had met years prior. How does she keep getting cooler? Though she may have been born in Ohio, her carefree personality, original tomboy style, and adventurous spirit are all California.

I had the chance to ask Annie some questions; I wanted to know what this quintessential Cali babe thought about living in Southern California. We talked about what she loves about LA, her take on music and fashion, and she even shared her favorite hang spots around the city. Continue reading to learn all about Annie’s California…

What is your favorite part about living in Southern California?

I love it here for the freedom of running away. If you know me, you know I'm constantly getting out of town. With the mountains, beaches, and deserts all in a days reach, I have become a road trip junky.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Coffee, yoga, beach!

How would you describe your own personal style?

Tomboy. I am the most low maintenance person I know when it comes to style— always in jeans and a tee shirt. If you asked me what's trending, I would have no idea. I just want to be comfy and casual.

Cameron Diaz, Mick Jagger, and Stevie Nicks.

If we caught you on your day off hanging with friends, what would you be wearing?

Levi's and an old tee.

And do you have a favorite album of all time?

There's never going to be one favorite, I love all different kinds of music but to name a few...
