Courtney Conlogue Wins the Fiji Pro
COURTNEY CONLOGUE WINS HER SECOND EVENT OF THE SEASON AT THE FIJI PRO!
Conditions weren't what you would normally expect at Cloudbreak in Fiji but Courtney Conlogue battled heat after heat to take the win. She had to get past defending Fiji Pro champion, Johanne Defay, as well as Lakey Peterson earlier in the event. Then came the semi-finals with an epic battle against current WSL Jeep Leader, Tyler Wright. "I'm just happy I got through," she said, after sitting in the back of a ponga analyzing her road to the final. By beating Wright, she has gained some ground on the leaderboard all while building momentum for the rest of the season.
In the final, it was Courtney vs. Tatiana Weston-Webb. Conditions were tough, scores were low, and each of the women pushed it to their limit. In the end, it was Courtney taking the first place finish.
Next up is the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA.
